Monsoon rain will continue to fall in various parts of the country today.

Behind me, you can see the sky over Seoul. The sky is gloomy with thick dark clouds, and light rain is falling.

Looking at the current radar imagery, rain clouds are positioned over the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, and South Chungcheong Province. The rain is alternating between heavy and light intensity.

Currently, heavy rain of over 40mm per hour is pouring down in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

As a result, heavy rain advisories have been issued for parts of northern Gyeonggi Province, northern Gangwon Province, Incheon, the western coast of Gyeonggi Province, and southern South Chungcheong Province.

In the central region, heavy rain is expected to continue until this afternoon, while the southern region will see frequent lulls in the rainfall.

Regarding the expected precipitation, 30mm to a maximum of 80mm of rain is forecast for northern Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon, Incheon, the western coast of Gyeonggi, and the western coast of South Chungcheong. Seoul and other parts of the central region, as well as North Jeolla and North Gyeongsang provinces, are expected to see between 5mm and 60mm of rain. Other regions will receive between 5mm and 40mm.

In the southern regions where there is less rain, intense heat will prevail. Heat wave advisories have been newly issued for the Yeongnam region, and some have been upgraded to heat wave warnings.

Today, the daytime sensible temperature in Pohang is expected to climb to 37°C (99°F), making it feel muggy, while the daytime temperature in Seoul will remain at 28°C (82°F), avoiding extreme heat.

As we head toward the latter half of the week, monsoon rain is expected to continue for an extended period in the central region.
