The national team retirement ceremony for Kwak Seung-suk, a franchise star of the men's professional volleyball club Korean Air Jumbos, will be held at Jecheon Gymnasium in North Chungcheong Province on July 25.
An official from the Korea Volleyball Association stated on July 21, "Kwak is a player who dedicated himself to the national team for a long time," adding, "We have organized this retirement ceremony to express our gratitude for his contributions."
Kwak is scheduled to step onto the court to deliver a message of thanks to the fans ahead of the exhibition match between the men's national volleyball team and Brazil that day.
Kwak, who began his professional career with the Korean Air Jumbos in 2010, recently announced his retirement.
His club, the Korean Air Jumbos, is preparing a separate retirement ceremony for him, apart from the national team event.
