The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it has closed all 29 streams across the city as of today, July 21, following heavy rainfall that reached a peak of 53.5mm per hour during the early morning hours due to a stationary front.

The underpass at Jeungsan Bridge was also temporarily closed during the early morning, but the restriction was lifted at 5:17 a.m.

The heavy rain has resulted in 12 reports of damage, including one case of a fallen tree and four cases requiring safety measures for facilities.

The city, which issued a Level 1 emergency work order starting at 11:00 p.m. last night in anticipation of the downpour and deployed approximately 3,200 officials from the city and local districts to emergency duty, has requested thorough safety management for vulnerable areas such as streams and low-lying regions.
