The music video for singer PSY's global hit song 'Gangnam Style' has surpassed 6 billion views on YouTube, a first in K-pop history.

This milestone comes 14 years after its release in July 2012.

Following the achievement of 5 billion views in December 2023, the video has gained another 1 billion views in two and a half years.

PSY's side explained that this is an iconic record in K-pop history and a testament to the power of content that continues to be loved across borders and generations.

Previously, 'Gangnam Style' created a global sensation with its cheerful lyrics and the memorable horse-riding dance.

It became the first video in YouTube history to surpass 1 billion views and served as the starting point for the K-pop craze, including ranking second on the U.S. Billboard main singles chart, the Hot 100, for seven consecutive weeks.
