Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung visited the Coupang logistics center in Seohae-gu, Incheon, this afternoon (July 20) to inspect the status of the firefighting efforts.
Minister Yun received reports on the response status from each agency, including the National Fire Agency, the National Police Agency, the Incheon Metropolitan City Hall, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. He emphasized the evacuation order issued to residents due to signs of building collapse and urged relevant agencies to respond thoroughly.
He further instructed that all available resources be mobilized, including full support for equipment and resources necessary for extinguishing the fire, and that operations be conducted under thorough protective measures to ensure that personnel on-site are not exposed to danger.
Minister Yun also visited the shelter set up at Incheon Sinhyeon Elementary School to comfort affected residents and ordered officials from Incheon City Hall and Seohae-gu Office to ensure that on-site relief support is provided without any setbacks.
"Please provide prompt and accurate information to the public so that residents do not feel anxious, and do your best to prevent secondary damage," Minister Yun emphasized. "Also, please prioritize the safety of the firefighters who are struggling in a dangerous fire site filled with toxic gas and high heat."
