The court hearing to determine whether to issue an arrest warrant for Yoo Byung-ho, a commissioner at the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) suspected of improperly intervening in the audit of the presidential residence relocation, has begun.

Judge Lee Jong-rok of the Seoul Central District Court, who is in charge of warrant proceedings, opened the pre-arrest interrogation for Commissioner Yoo, who is accused of abuse of power, at 10:30 a.m. today (July 20) to deliberate on the necessity of his detention.

Upon arriving at the court, Commissioner Yoo did not respond to questions from reporters asking whether he admits to the allegations of conducting a lenient audit to favor the presidential residence relocation, and proceeded directly into the courtroom.

Commissioner Yoo is accused of improperly intervening to downplay or cover up the results of an audit related to the relocation of the presidential office and residence while he was serving as the Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection during the Yoon Suk Yeol administration.
