As the domestic semiconductor industry experiences a boom driven by the global expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure, the number of entry-level job postings in the sector has seen a significant increase in the first half of this year.

According to JobKorea on July 20, the number of entry-level job postings in the semiconductor industry during the first half of this year rose by 47% compared to the same period last year.

The proportion of entry-level positions among all job postings in the industry reached 12.2%, up 2.4 percentage points from the same period last year, marking the highest level in the past five years.

This is interpreted as a sign that hiring, which had traditionally been focused on experienced professionals due to the nature of the industry, is beginning to expand to include entry-level positions.

Total semiconductor job postings, including both entry-level and experienced roles, increased by approximately 20% compared to the previous year.

This figure significantly exceeds the 14% average growth rate across all industries.

JobKorea analyzed that "active hiring by major conglomerates such as SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics has led to an overall increase in job postings within the semiconductor industry."

SK Hynix began rolling recruitment for entry-level positions last month and announced the abolition of academic background requirements.

Samsung Electronics has also recently begun efforts to secure talent for 82 job categories in its semiconductor division, raising expectations for the second-half open and rolling recruitment processes of major companies.

It is not only domestic firms that are hiring; job postings in Korea by global semiconductor companies have also increased significantly.

According to JobKorea, the number of job postings by Nvidia and Micron in the first half of this year has already surpassed their annual totals from last year, showing an increase of approximately 50%.

As the number of job postings in the semiconductor sector grows, interest from job seekers is also rising.

In the case of SK Hynix, which recently conducted hiring, keyword search volume on JobKorea increased by 180% compared to the previous year.
