Amid a flurry of diverse reactions to director Na Hong-jin's new film Hope, it surpassed 2 million viewers yesterday (July 19), just five days after its release.

Hope crossed the 2 million viewer mark on the afternoon of its fifth day of release.

Following the milestone of surpassing 1 million viewers on its third day, the film is currently attracting audiences at the fastest pace among all films released this year.

Hope tells the story of what unfolds when an unidentified entity appears in a village near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

The film continues to generate intense buzz, with various interpretations and reactions from viewers pouring out online.

Intense action scenes, including the horseback riding stunts performed by Jo In-sung, have generally received positive feedback.

Director Na Hong-jin, who met with audiences during stage greetings yesterday, is set to attend Comic-Con, the world's largest content festival held in San Diego, USA, starting on July 23 to meet with North American audiences as well.
