K League 1 leaders FC Seoul secured 3 points in their away match against Bucheon, further widening the gap with the second-place team.
Seoul defeated Bucheon FC 3-1 in the 18th round of the Hana Bank K League 1 2026 held at Bucheon Stadium today (July 19).
With 39 points, Seoul firmly maintained its top position, extending its lead to 8 points over second-place Gangwon FC (31 points).
Additionally, Seoul extended its unbeaten streak in the league to 5 matches (4 wins, 1 draw).
On the other hand, Bucheon, whose 4-match unbeaten streak (1 win, 3 draws) was halted, remained at 10th place with 19 points.
Seoul fielded Patryk Klimala and Cho Young-wook at the forefront of the attack, with Song Min-kyu and Jung Seung-won on the flanks.
Bucheon started with an attacking trio of Galego, Park Jung-in, and Han Ji-ho, and featured 2005-born rookie midfielder Seong Ye-geon, who was signed last week, in his debut match.
Seoul, which had previously won 3-0 in their 9th round encounter on April 21, dominated the game from the start.
In the 4th minute, a corner kick by Jung Seung-won curved toward the goal, but Bucheon goalkeeper Kim Hyung-keun tipped it away with his fingers. In the 13th minute, a mid-range shot from the left of the penalty arc by Babec, receiving a pass from Yazan, narrowly missed the left side of the goal.
From the middle of the first half, Bucheon also began to look for attacking opportunities.
In the 27th minute, following a corner kick, Galego's shot sailed just over the crossbar.
Seoul took the lead in the 42nd minute with a strike from Cho Young-wook.
Babec's mid-range shot was blocked by a Bucheon defender's foot in front of the goal, but the ball did not travel far, and Cho Young-wook struck the loose ball with his right foot into the net.
It was Cho Young-wook's 3rd league goal of the season.
In the 9th minute of the second half, Seoul scored a second goal as Jung Seung-won finished a low cross from Klimala with a sliding effort.
During this play, Kim Hyung-keun, who collided with Jung while attempting to block him, was unable to continue due to injury and was taken away by ambulance; the Bucheon goalkeeper was replaced by Kim Hyun-yeop.
Around that time, Bucheon made significant changes to its attack by substituting in Bassani, Gabriel, and Kim Seung-bin, while Seoul brought on Anderson in place of Cho Young-wook to solidify the victory.
Bucheon pulled one back in the 18th minute of the second half when Kim Sang-jun headed in a free kick from Bassani.
Bucheon continued their offensive onslaught, and in stoppage time, a shot by Gabriel, who penetrated the center of the penalty area, found the net, but it was ruled out for offside, leaving the team disappointed.
Instead, as the 12 minutes of second-half stoppage time were coming to an end, Seoul sealed the victory with a goal from Klimala.
Klimala, who assisted Jung Seung-won's winning goal, put on a stellar performance by scoring his 6th goal of the season.
