The KIA Tigers extended their winning streak to three games, fueled by a powerful team offense in professional baseball.

KIA secured a 9-5 victory against the SSG Landers in an away game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon today (July 19).

With this win, KIA, which has now won three consecutive games following a loss in the second half of the season, maintained its fourth-place position and took another step toward the postseason.

KIA took an early lead in the top of the first inning when Harold Castro hit a double, followed by three walks that brought in a run.

SSG tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning with an infield hit by Lee Ji-young with two outs and the bases loaded.

In the top of the third inning, KIA pulled ahead 4-1 after Castro hit a double and Kim Do-young hit a single to right field, followed by a three-run homer to left-center by Na Sung-bum.

SSG fought back in the bottom of the sixth inning, as pinch hitter Kim Jae-hwan hit a three-run homer to tie the game, and Choi Ji-hoon followed with a back-to-back home run to take a 5-4 lead.

However, in the top of the seventh inning, Kim Ho-ryeong drew a walk and stole second base, and Kim Do-young brought him home with a double down the left-field line to tie the game at 5-5.

In the top of the eighth inning, KIA reclaimed the lead with a two-run single by Kim Ho-ryeong, followed by Castro's two-run homer to right field, extending the lead to 9-5 and securing the victory.

Castro led the offense with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 2 RBIs, including the decisive two-run homer.

KIA starting pitcher Yang Hyeon-jong met the requirements for a win by allowing only 1 run on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts over 5 innings. However, the win was denied after reliever Jung Hae-young allowed two home runs and 4 runs in just one-third of an inning.
