Heavy rainfall centered on the northern regions of North Gyeongsang Province, including Uiseong and Andong, has led to the evacuation of 420 people from 321 households across 8 cities and counties. Of these, 182 people have since returned home.

According to the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government, as of 11:00 a.m. today (July 19), 182 people from 136 households have returned home after evacuating due to the heavy rain overnight.

Currently, 238 people from 185 households remain unable to return home and are staying in facilities such as village halls and senior citizen centers.

The province has also reported damages including 2 road washouts, 2 cases of river flooding, and 3 slope failures.

In Andong, Uiseong, and Gimcheon, 18 hectares of farmland, including crops such as rice, chili peppers, and soybeans, have been flooded or buried.

Water supply has been suspended for 212 households after 2 water supply pipelines were damaged in Andong and Uiseong.

Power outages occurred in 8 locations across Andong and Uiseong, with restoration work still underway in 2 of those areas.

A total of 14 locations remain restricted, including 4 roads, 5 submersible bridges, 3 riverside parking lots, and 2 campsites.

Since July 17, fire authorities have responded to 186 reports (20 rescue operations and 166 safety measures) and have completed all necessary actions.

On the night of July 18, authorities rescued 8 people who were isolated after their temporary housing for wildfire victims in Iljik-myeon, Andong, was swept away by rising floodwaters. Additionally, 10 people were rescued from a flooded supermarket in Namson-myeon, Andong.

Safety measures taken include 95 cases of clearing road obstructions, 32 cases of residential flooding, 31 other cases such as manhole cover maintenance, and 9 cases involving landslides and rockfalls.

Landslide warnings are currently in effect for Gimcheon, Andong, Yeongju, Uiseong, Yecheon, and Bonghwa.

The Korea Forest Service has upgraded the landslide crisis alert level for North Gyeongsang Province from "Caution" to "Alert."

All heavy rain advisories in the North Gyeongsang region were lifted as of 6:00 a.m. today.

An additional 30 to 80 mm of rain is forecast to fall until this afternoon.

Cumulative precipitation since July 17 includes 211.0 mm in Namson (Andong), 202.5 mm in Mulya (Bonghwa), and 193.0 mm in Dongno (Mungyeong).
