The Democratic Party of Korea stated today (July 18), the third anniversary of the death of a teacher at Seoi Elementary School, that "the Democratic Party will fulfill its responsibility to the end to create schools where teachers can teach with peace of mind and children can learn fully."
Spokesperson Kim Han-na issued a commentary today, pointing out, "Since the Seoi Elementary School incident, we have faced the reality of collapsed teaching authority and the educational field." She added, "Even three years later, many teachers still stand at the podium in fear of malicious complaints and indiscriminate reporting."
"In classrooms where teachers are afraid, children cannot learn properly," Kim emphasized. "We will firmly protect legitimate educational activities and shield teachers from malicious complaints."
She further added, "We will more carefully supplement the system so that teachers can take pride and find fulfillment in properly educating children at the podium."
