1. Heavy Rain Warnings Issued for Seoul Metropolitan Area and Gangwon; Dongbu Expressway Fully Closed

Heavy rain clouds moved in overnight, leading to the issuance of heavy rain warnings across the central region, including the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province. Flood advisories have been issued for the Mokgamcheon Stream near Neobudae Bridge and the Dongducheon Stream near Songcheon Bridge. All sections of the Dongbu Expressway in Seoul are currently closed to traffic.

2. Up to 200mm of Heavy Rain Expected Through Tomorrow; Caution Advised for Extreme Rainfall in Central Region

Up to 200mm of heavy rain is expected in the central region, including the Seoul metropolitan area, through tomorrow, July 19. Some areas in the central region may experience extreme rainfall of up to 80mm per hour until this morning, and the intense rain clouds are expected to gradually affect the southern regions as well.

3. Vehicle Collision and Fire in Daegwallyeong Tunnel; Severe Congestion on First Day of Holiday

A vehicle collision resulting in a fire occurred in the Daegwallyeong Tunnel on the Yeongdong Expressway yesterday, the first day of the Constitution Day holiday. The accident led to a complete closure of traffic in both directions, causing severe congestion.

4. U.S. Strikes Iranian Surveillance Tower in Hormuz; Iran Retaliates

The United States bombed a maritime surveillance tower in the Strait of Hormuz and infrastructure in a southern city within Iran. Iran has retaliated by attacking U.S. military bases and infrastructure in neighboring countries, including Kuwait.
