Five children were injured after a large air bounce collapsed at a water playground in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:51 p.m. today (July 17) at a water playground in Sanbon-dong, Gunpo.

As a result of the incident, five children under the age of 10 who were at the scene sustained injuries, including bruises.

The children were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It was determined that dozens of children were playing in the water at the time of the accident.

The accident was found to have been caused by a large air bounce installed next to the pool tipping over.

The water playground where the accident occurred is a facility operated by external contractors commissioned by the city of Gunpo.

The police plan to question officials from the company that installed the air bounce and the management company responsible for on-site safety.

They intend to conduct a thorough investigation into whether there were any defects in the installation process and whether safety regulations were followed.

Immediately following the accident, the city of Gunpo temporarily closed the water playground.
