A fire broke out on the third floor of an apartment building in Buk-gu, Busan, at approximately 1:30 p.m. today.
The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes, but one resident suffered from smoke inhalation and is receiving treatment at a hospital.
119 emergency responders searched the interior of the apartment and rescued eight residents.
The police plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire by examining the scene.
