Here is a quick summary of the news you should know this morning.

Let's take a look at the essential news.

Our first piece of essential news today is about a reduction in airfares.

The fuel surcharge for international flights will be lowered once again next month.

This will be welcome news if you are planning your summer vacation.

Korean Air will further reduce its international fuel surcharges next month.

For short-haul routes, such as from Incheon to Fukuoka, Japan, a round-trip surcharge of 70,400 won will be applied, while long-haul routes, such as from Incheon to New York, U.S., will be charged 518,400 won round-trip.

Compared to this month, this is a decrease ranging from 22,400 won to nearly 170,000 won, and it is about half the level seen in May, which was the most expensive period.

This is due to the price of Singapore jet fuel falling by 16% compared to the previous period.

However, the situation between the U.S. and Iran has been tense recently.

As international oil prices have jumped from the 70-dollar range to the 80-dollar range per barrel within a week, it remains to be seen whether this downward trend in airfares will continue.
