A stationary front will move up and down across the country during the Constitution Day holiday, bringing rain to all regions.
Currently, rain is falling at a rate of around 5 to 20 mm per hour, mainly in the Chungcheong region.
Today (July 17), an additional 5 to 60 mm of rain is expected to continue in areas south of Chungcheong.
Meanwhile, rain will begin in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon province tonight, and heavy rain is expected to pour across the country until the day after tomorrow.
Over the weekend, more than 250 mm of heavy rain is forecast for southern Gyeonggi, central and southern Gangwon, and northern Chungcheong. Other central regions, including Seoul, are expected to see between 80 and 150 mm of rain.
In particular, extreme downpours of 50 to up to 80 mm per hour are expected in the central region from early tomorrow morning to the morning hours, so please make preparations in advance.
Temperatures in most regions are currently starting at around 25°C (77°F).
During the day, temperatures in Seoul and Daegu will rise to 32°C (90°F).
Rain is expected to fall frequently across the country next week as well.
