Kwon Seong-dong, a lawmaker of the People Power Party, has been sentenced to two years in prison for accepting 100 million won in illegal political funds from the Unification Church.

The Supreme Court's Second Division upheld the lower court's ruling today (July 16), confirming the two-year prison sentence and a forfeiture of 100 million won for Kwon, who was charged with violating the Political Funds Act.

Under the National Assembly Act and the Public Official Election Act, Kwon will lose his parliamentary seat.
