Body Believed to Be Missing Man in His 70s Found After Falling During Walk

A body, believed to be that of a man in his 70s who went missing after being swept away by a swift current in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, on July 9, has been discovered after an eight-day search.
According to police and fire authorities on Thursday (July 16), a fire official discovered the body, suspected to be that of A (76), near Ilwon Bridge in Naejul-ri, Anjeong-myeon, Yeongju, at 11:30 a.m. today.
The police plan to conduct a forensic examination to confirm the identity of the deceased.
A previously went missing on the morning of July 9 at 10:01 a.m. while taking a walk with a social worker near Namwon Stream in Seongnae-ri, Punggi-eup, Yeongju. He reportedly slipped and fell into the river, where he was swept away by the current. (Photo: Yonhap News)
