Here is a quick summary of the news you need to know this morning. Let's take a look at the latest updates.

Our first story today.

Cashback for saving electricity. Many of you are likely feeling the burden of electricity bills during the summer season.

We have news about an energy-saving benefit that allows you to receive cashback by reducing your electricity consumption by just 1%.

The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) are significantly easing the eligibility criteria for energy cashback from this month through December.

Previously, you had to reduce your usage by at least 3% compared to the average of the same month over the past two years to qualify. Starting this month, however, you can receive the benefit by saving just 1%.

The payout rate has also increased, allowing users to receive up to 120 won per kilowatt-hour (kWh) depending on their reduction rate.

In particular, households equipped with a remote metering system can receive an additional "evening time cashback" of 500 won per kilowatt-hour if they reduce electricity usage between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays in July and August.

All these benefits can be checked and applied for at once through the integrated platform, "Wise Electric Life."
