It has been belatedly revealed that a coach for a professional women's volleyball team has voluntarily resigned amid allegations of sexually harassing a player.
While the Sports Ethics Center is currently investigating the matter, the team's head coach has also been suspended from duty.
In January, it was reported that Coach B of women's volleyball team A engaged in inappropriate behavior, such as hugging a player, during a team dinner.
The club learned of the incident through a tip-off in May and immediately reported it to the Sports Ethics Center.
It has been confirmed that Coach B apologized to the team, voluntarily resigned, and is currently under investigation. The team's head coach, who was present at the scene at the time of the incident, has also been suspended from duties until the investigation results are released.
The Korea Volleyball Federation plans to convene a disciplinary committee once the investigation results are available.
