The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) held its first general strike rally since the implementation of the so-called Yellow Envelope Law, emphasizing the need to secure the right to negotiate with prime contractors.

Yang Kyung-soo, chairman of the KCTU, argued that prime contractors continue to evade their responsibilities despite demands for negotiations from subcontracted, non-regular workers. He called for the abolition of enforcement decrees and administrative guidelines that have become tools for avoiding such negotiations.

Regarding the situation at Homeplus, the KCTU urged the government to devise countermeasures, stating that if the livelihoods of 100,000 people collapse, the current administration will be remembered as one that ignored the public's well-being.
