A police officer from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency is under investigation after being booked on charges of committing a sex crime against a minor.

The Busan Yeonje Police Station announced that it is investigating a police inspector in his 30s, identified as A, from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of quasi-rape.

Inspector A is accused of taking a minor, identified as B, to his home after drinking with her on the morning of July 11 and committing the offense.

A police official stated, "We are currently conducting an investigation to verify the facts, as the statements from the parties involved differ," adding, "We have relieved Inspector A of his duties and are also conducting an internal inspection."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Inspector A was previously booked for a similar sex crime in 2023.

At that time, Inspector A was booked on charges of filming a woman with his smartphone camera while she was asleep at his home after they met by chance and drank together in a busy district in Busan. Following that incident, the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency relieved him of his duties and imposed heavy disciplinary action.
