As of June this year, the presale price per square meter (㎡) for private apartments in Seoul saw a slight decline from the previous month but remained at the second-highest level on record.
According to the private apartment presale price trends released by the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) on the 15th, the average presale price per ㎡ for new private apartments across the country over the past year was 6.236 million won as of the end of June, a 3.69% decrease from the previous month.
The monthly average presale price calculated by HUG is not for a single month, but the average presale price of private housing projects that received presale guarantees during the 12 months leading up to the publication date, including the month in question.
The national average presale price, converted to a 3.3㎡ (one pyeong) basis, is 20.615 million won.
The average presale price per ㎡ in Seoul was 18.649 million won, down 2.99% from the previous month.
On a 3.3㎡ basis, this marks 61.65 million won, the second-highest price on record following the previous month's 63.55 million won.
The average presale price per ㎡ in the Seoul metropolitan area was 10.93 million won, a 1.36% decrease from the previous month.
In the five major metropolitan cities and Sejong City, the price fell by 9.50% to 6.424 million won, while other provincial regions saw a 1.26% increase to 4.335 million won.
The number of new private apartment presales nationwide in June was 14,964 units, an increase of 10,136 units from the previous month.
