A YouTuber known as Potato Turtle, who sparked controversy by acting like a "sasaeng" (obsessive) fan after showing up unannounced at the office of BLACKPINK member Jennie's personal agency to meet her, has finally bowed his head in apology.

On July 14, Potato Turtle posted an official apology on his social media, stating that he deeply reflects on his thoughtless behavior.

Potato Turtle, who has approximately 360,000 subscribers, has been producing content centered on achieving 100 items on his bucket list.

While he had received support from netizens for checking off items on his list one by one, his 85th bucket list attempt, "Having a cup of coffee with Jennie," proved to be an ill-advised move.

He faced intense criticism after uploading a video in which he visited the office of Jennie's one-person agency without prior notice to complete the challenge.

In the video, he is seen repeatedly ringing the office doorbell and handing a letter and a bouquet of flowers to a staff member. He also visited the venue of Jennie's performance, standing with a picket sign that read, "Jennie, would you like to have a cup of coffee with me?"

After the video was released, netizens poured out harsh criticism, arguing that showing up at a private space without an appointment could be a threat to the artist and that his behavior was no different from that of a "sasaeng" fan.

As the controversy grew, Potato Turtle immediately made the video private and posted an apology to address the situation.

He acknowledged his responsibility, stating that the incident occurred because he was ignorant of idol fan culture and public performance etiquette.

He also apologized, admitting that he failed to realize that showing up at an agency unannounced to deliver gifts could be perceived as pressure or a threat to the other party.

However, he drew a line regarding accusations that the content was intentionally staged to gain views.

Potato Turtle explained that he simply wanted to convey his sincerity as a fan who likes Jennie, and that he never intended to exploit the artist to increase his view count.
