A former coach, identified as B, from a professional women's volleyball team, A, is currently under investigation by the Sports Ethics Center for alleged misconduct.
According to sources in the volleyball community, the former coach engaged in inappropriate behavior during a team dinner in January. A player subsequently raised the issue with the club, stating that she felt sexually humiliated.
Following the incident, both the club and the victim reported the matter to the Sports Ethics Center, and the former coach has since resigned.
An official from Team A stated on July 15, "The club became aware of the incident around May," adding, "We immediately separated the parties involved and reported the matter to the Sports Ethics Center and the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO)."
The official added, "The club is fully cooperating with the Sports Ethics Center's investigation, and we will take necessary measures in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures once the results are confirmed."
A KOVO official stated, "This is a matter currently under investigation by the Sports Ethics Center," and added, "We will decide whether to convene a disciplinary committee based on the investigation results."
Meanwhile, Team A recently carried out personnel changes, including the replacement of its general manager.
A club official stated, "The change of the general manager is a routine personnel move unrelated to this matter."
