The film 'Wild Thing' will be available to global audiences on Netflix starting July 31.

'Wild Thing' is a comedy about 'Triangle,' a three-member co-ed dance group that once swept the music scene but disbanded overnight due to an unexpected incident. The film follows their reckless challenge to seize a chance at a comeback 20 years later.

The film, which was released on June 3, has drawn 1.33 million viewers nationwide to date. While it did not reach its break-even point of 2 million viewers, the film generated significant buzz. In particular, the character Choi Seong-gon (played by Oh Jung-se) and the song 'I Like You' that he sang created various memes on the internet and online communities, gaining even more popularity than the film itself.

However, 'Wild Thing' saw a relatively low number of theatergoers compared to the viral success of the film. Conversely, the characters and the song within the movie created a phenomenon by garnering intense attention, which implies that many people have not yet watched the film. As it moves to Netflix following the end of its theatrical run, it will be able to reach a wider audience. It is expected to receive more attention as a secondary release through a subscription-based service.

Ahead of the Netflix release, the film's investor and distributor, Lotte Entertainment, expressed its expectations, stating, "We aim to expand the fervent heat gained in domestic theaters to the global market through Netflix. This will be a great opportunity for Korean comedy films to build a global fandom, transcending cultural barriers."
