People Power Party Floor Leader Chung Jeung-sik has demanded that the Blue House disclose the whereabouts of President Lee Jae-myung at the time of a Navy soldier's disappearance.
In a social media post today (July 15), Floor Leader Chung wrote, "Asking about President Lee Jae-myung's whereabouts during the 21 hours after a Navy soldier went missing near the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the East Sea is to determine whether the President, as Commander-in-Chief, received prompt reports and ordered appropriate responses from the relevant ministries, and whether the military chain of command and the government's crisis response system were operating properly."
Floor Leader Chung asked, "The President should have summoned the relevant ministries to direct the response," adding, "If the President went out for a round of golf while remaining calm even after being reported that our soldier had gone missing in waters near the NLL, is this not clearly a dereliction of duty as Commander-in-Chief?"
He further added, "I hope the Blue House will disclose in detail the President's whereabouts during the 21 hours of the Navy personnel's disappearance."
