Actor Choi Kang-hee has publicly spoken out about being a victim of stalking.

On July 15, Choi wrote on her social media, "I am leaving this explanation because it is a post that everyone can see." She stated, "I confirmed a letter yesterday saying that if I did not leave a post, they would take it as consent and follow my car. I also realized that this is the same person who tried to talk to me a few days ago."

Choi continued, "I will not reveal your name. Do not follow me. Silence is also a refusal." She firmly added, "I hope you realize that attempting to converse without consent, waiting for me, and following me is stalking. Even if you believe your actions are not malicious, I hope you understand that they cause psychological fear."

Finally, Choi requested, "I can no longer accept letters and gifts sent to the broadcasting station. Please deliver them through my agency or fan club." She appealed, "Due to recent ongoing events, I have even had nightmares that were not normal and could not be distinguished from reality. I ask for your prayers and cooperation."

Choi is currently preparing to resume her acting career after a long hiatus. She is scheduled to return to the stage as an actor for the first time in five years through the play "Closer" this coming September.

Previously, on July 13, Choi appeared on comedian Lee Sung-mi's YouTube channel and revealed that she had gone through a psychologically difficult period that led her to stop acting for a while. She shared that after stepping away from acting, she experienced an ordinary life by cleaning the homes of Song Eun-i and Kim Sook and working part-time washing dishes at a barbecue restaurant. She also mentioned that she had even considered working at a mask factory during the COVID-19 pandemic.
