SBS and the Korea Startup Forum (KSF), the largest organization for startups in South Korea, have joined forces to revitalize the K-startup ecosystem and discover promising new companies.
On July 14, SBS (CEO Bang Moon-shin) and the Korea Startup Forum (Chair Kim Jae-won) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a strategic media partnership at the SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
This agreement was established to help promising startups grow and enhance their brand value based on mutual respect and trust, leveraging the infrastructure of both organizations. In particular, the plan aims to build a foundation for practical growth and long-term business cooperation for startups by connecting SBS's terrestrial media infrastructure and specialized marketing support programs to KSF member companies.
Under the agreement, SBS will pursue initiatives including: cooperation on media coverage for major KSF events and startup ecosystem news; expanding eligibility and providing benefits of the SBS Innovation-Type SME Support Program to KSF members; and establishing a new digital content production support competition to discover outstanding startups.
The Korea Startup Forum will also strengthen the partnership by: providing opportunities for SBS to participate in major KSF events; promoting SBS support programs and marketing benefits to its members; conducting and encouraging participation in the digital content production support competition; and supporting SBS in identifying key startup issues and conducting news coverage.
At the signing ceremony, SBS CEO Bang Moon-shin expressed his full support, stating, "SBS will become the broadest stage and a reliable partner so that the results of the innovation that startups have fiercely contemplated can be chosen by the world. As KSF marks its 10th anniversary, SBS stands with you at the starting line of your next 10 years in a spirit of solidarity to begin this solid journey together."
KSF Chair Kim Jae-won responded, "The role of media is decisive in the process of startups becoming known to the world. We expect that the media infrastructure and support programs of SBS, a leading domestic broadcaster, will be a strong force for the growth of our member companies. KSF will also actively cooperate to ensure that the great stories of K-startups are widely shared."
