A man in his 20s, posing as a customer at a jewelry store, put on a 10-don (approx. 37.5g) gold necklace and fled, only to be caught shortly after.

On July 8, a man entered a jewelry store in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do.

The man asked to see a gold necklace. After putting on the 10-don necklace, worth approximately 7.8 million won, he appeared to be looking in the mirror before suddenly running out of the store.

Police spotted the man in a nearby alleyway, and a chase immediately ensued.

The tense situation at the time was captured on the police body camera.

The 300-meter pursuit came to an end when a citizen blocked the fleeing man's path.

Investigations revealed that the man had planned and executed the crime with a friend to cover living expenses.

The police have arrested them on charges of theft and presented a letter of appreciation to the citizen who helped in the arrest.
