A series of power outages occurred overnight due to heavy rainfall.
At approximately 10:12 p.m. yesterday (July 14), a power outage affected about 950 households in the Geomo-dong and Gunja-dong areas of Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) stated that the outage was caused by an external object coming into contact with a utility pole due to heavy rain and strong winds, and that repairs were completed in about two hours.
Around 10:30 p.m. yesterday, an apartment complex in Sinjeong-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, experienced a power failure after a circuit breaker malfunctioned due to the heavy rain, leaving about 150 households without electricity for 50 minutes.
