As Iran engages in armed conflict with the United States over control of the Strait of Hormuz and continues to strike U.S. military bases across the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Iran that any attack on Israeli soil will be met with overwhelming retaliation.
Prime Minister Netanyahu made the remarks during an event held in the Negev Desert city of Dimona on the 14th (local time), stating, "We are prepared for all scenarios."
He said, "My message to the Iranian leadership is clear. Do not expect to attack us and remain unscathed," adding, "Do not expect the situation of the past to repeat itself. That will not happen."
Netanyahu raised his voice, stating, "Our previous response was very powerful, but if there are any further attempts to harm us, we will respond in a way that is completely different and much more powerful than before."
Previously, in retaliation for Iranian missile attacks targeting Israel, the country struck petrochemical facilities located in southwestern Iran on June 8.
"The era where you could attack us without paying a heavy price is over," Netanyahu warned, reiterating, "We have proven this against Iran's 'axis of evil,' and we will continue to deal firmly with all forces that seek to harm us."
He added, "This is how we have acted until now, and it will remain our principle of action moving forward."
