Kim Ou-joon Fined 20 Million Won for Defaming Former Reporter Lee Dong-jae

Broadcaster Kim Ou-joon has been sentenced to a fine for defaming former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae.

On July 14, Judge Kang Gyeong-muk of the Seoul Northern District Court, Criminal Division 14, sentenced Kim to a fine of 20 million won on charges of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.

Judge Kang stated, "The number of offenses is not small, and the victim has suffered significant mental distress," adding, "The victim is petitioning for a stern punishment for the defendant."

When asked by reporters if he had any intention to apologize to Lee Dong-jae, Kim did not provide any response.
