Comedian Lee Su-ji has been diagnosed with vocal cord nodules and will undergo surgery.
On July 14, her agency, CP Entertainment, stated, "Lee Su-ji was recently diagnosed with vocal cord nodules," adding, "Following medical advice, she will receive treatment and resume her activities after a sufficient recovery period."
The agency further noted, "We plan to spare no support to ensure she can return in good health," expressing their commitment to doing their utmost in various ways for Lee's swift recovery and physical well-being.
It appears there will be no sudden suspension of activities or hiatus due to the vocal cord surgery. Lee is currently a regular cast member on the SBS variety show "Ani Geunde Jinjja!" (Wait, Seriously?), and as there is enough recorded footage, she will continue with the program until the end without leaving. Additionally, her YouTube channel "Hot Issue-ji," which has 1.38 million subscribers, is also expected to operate without any gaps.
Lee, who first stepped into the broadcasting industry as an open recruitment comedian for SBS in 2008, made a fresh start as a 27th open recruitment comedian for KBS in 2012, where she began to make a name for herself. Since then, she has been greatly loved by viewers for her unrivaled vocal impressions and ability to portray various alter egos in programs such as "Gag Concert" and "SNL Korea," as well as various YouTube web variety content.
