Former Democratic Party leader Jung Chung-rae held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall today (July 13) and announced his bid for a consecutive term as party leader in the August 17 national convention.
Regarding the issue of abolishing the prosecution's supplementary investigation rights, which recently sparked controversy following the Jang Yoon-gi case involving the murder of a high school girl in Gwangju, Jung stated, "I will ensure the 100% complete abolition of these rights," adding, "I will not compromise in the slightest."
