Seoul has experienced tropical nights for two consecutive days.
The heat is expected to persist throughout the day.
Heat wave warnings have now been expanded to include parts of the mountainous regions in Gangwon Province.
In areas under the advisory today (July 13), the perceived temperature is expected to rise above 33°C (91°F), leading to sweltering conditions.
This heat will briefly subside as rain is forecast across the country tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
However, the sweltering heat will return once the rain stops.
From this afternoon through the evening, shower clouds are expected to develop, mainly in the central regions.
Rainfall amounts are expected to range from 5mm to 20mm in South Jeolla Province, western South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju Island.
The sun will be intense during the day.
The ultraviolet index is expected to reach levels ranging from very high to dangerous.
For the time being, strong swells are expected to hit the coastal areas of Jeju, the southern coast, and the Yeongnam coast.
The rain forecast for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow is expected to be heavy and intense in the central regions during the nighttime hours, which is a vulnerable time.
