A fire broke out at a restaurant on the basement level of an officetel in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at 10:23 a.m. today (July 13).

The fire led to the self-evacuation of 45 people and caused partial damage to two commercial units. One man in his 60s was transported to a hospital after inhaling smoke.

Fire authorities deployed 25 pieces of equipment and 83 personnel, successfully extinguishing the main blaze approximately 40 minutes after it began.

Police and fire officials plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage.
