The relentless heat, persisting day and night, has even triggered heatwave advisories in the mountainous regions of Gangwon Province. Seoul experienced its second consecutive tropical night today, July 13. We now connect to the weather center to find out how long this heat will last.

Following the issuance of Seoul's first tropical night advisory yesterday, the city recorded a morning low of 27.6°C (82°F) today, marking the second straight day of tropical night conditions.

This heat will persist throughout the day. Heatwave advisories have now been further expanded to include some mountainous areas of Gangwon Province.

In areas under these advisories, the perceived temperature is expected to climb above 33°C (91°F), leading to sweltering conditions.

As the risk of heat-related illnesses is high, it is advisable to refrain from outdoor work during the daytime.

This heat is expected to take a brief break tomorrow and the day after as rain falls across the country. However, the sweltering heat will return once the rain stops.

From this afternoon through the evening, cumulonimbus clouds may develop, primarily in the central regions. Today, rainfall between 5mm and 20mm is expected in parts of South Jeolla Province, western South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju Island.

The sun will shine intensely during the day. The ultraviolet index is expected to reach the very high to dangerous level.

For the time being, strong swells are expected to hit the coasts of Jeju, the southern coast, and the coast of the Yeongnam region.

The rain forecast for tomorrow and the day after is expected to be heavy and intense, particularly in the central regions during the nighttime hours, which is a vulnerable time. Please take precautions to prevent any rain-related damage.
