Comedian Jang Dong-min, often referred to as the "brain of the broadcasting industry," has secured another patent for eco-friendly technology.

Pureun Haneul, an eco-friendly startup where Jang Dong-min serves as CEO, announced that it has jointly developed "PET bottle screw inlet lightweight technology" with Namyang Magic, a company specializing in container production. The "Eco-Ring," which applies this technology, is an eco-friendly solution that reduces plastic usage by optimizing the structure of the inlet while maintaining the sealing performance and container strength of existing PET bottles.

Jang Dong-min personally introduced this technology during his appearance on the MBC program "Radio Star" last April. At the time, he explained, "Since there are realistic limitations to completely eliminating plastic, I focused on reducing mass and removing unnecessary elements." It is reported that the "Eco-Ring" technology is already being applied to and sold in containers for products such as Dongwon Tuna Liquid and canola oil.

This is not the first time Jang Dong-min has developed eco-friendly technology. In 2021, he devised and filed a patent for "PET one-touch removable container packaging" technology, which allows the label to be automatically separated the moment the cap is twisted open by attaching the label vertically rather than horizontally. The patent was officially registered the following year.
