The death toll from the series of earthquakes in Venezuela is approaching 4,500.

Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National Assembly, stated via his Telegram account on the 12th (local time) that the official death toll currently stands at 4,490, with 856 buildings damaged.

Rescue operations are facing significant difficulties as 1,222 aftershocks have occurred following the initial earthquakes.
