Fierce wind and rain are lashing the region, with trees uprooted and scattered across the streets.

Bridges and buildings have collapsed, and storm surges are hitting the coast.

As the 9th typhoon of the season, Bavi, made landfall in China, approximately 2.4 million people across various regions were evacuated.

Furthermore, more than 2,800 domestic and international flights were canceled across China on the 12th.

Rail services in the southeastern regions are also struggling to operate normally.

According to Chinese meteorological authorities, Typhoon Bavi first made landfall in Yuhuan, Zhejiang Province, on the night of the 11th, local time.

At the time, the maximum wind speed was 144 km/h.

The typhoon briefly moved off the coast before making landfall again in Yueqing, Zhejiang Province, about 20 minutes later.

The extent of human casualties has not yet been accurately determined.

In Taiwan, which was affected by the typhoon before China, more than 100 people were injured.

Taiwan's Central Emergency Operation Center stated that 113 people, including 5 foreign nationals, were injured due to the impact of Bavi.

Fortunately, there were no deaths or serious injuries reported.

Additionally, 14,000 people were evacuated across Taiwan, and hundreds of flights were canceled.

More than 17,000 households also suffered power outages.

While Typhoon Bavi is expected to gradually weaken as it moves northwest through China, heavy rain is forecast to continue in some parts of the country until July 15.
