A fire broke out on the 13th floor of an apartment building in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 5:40 p.m. today (July 12).

As a result of the fire, a resident in their 40s, identified as A, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, including smoke inhalation, while 14 other residents evacuated on their own.

Fire authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze after obtaining statements that the fire started with an explosion while food was being prepared.
