Sweltering heat is intensifying.

For the first time this year, a heat wave warning has been issued for Seoul.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 34°C (93°F) in Seoul and 36°C (97°F) in Pohang, with temperatures in Pohang set to soar to a staggering 37°C (99°F) tomorrow, July 12.

Currently, the UV index across the country is at a high to very high level, indicating strong sunlight.

Caution is also advised regarding high concentrations of ozone until 6:00 PM.

Meanwhile, showers are expected to pass through some parts of the Chungcheong and Jeonbuk regions until this afternoon.

In Jeju, rain of up to 60mm is expected to continue until tomorrow night.

Tomorrow morning, temperatures in Gangneung and Jeju will remain at 27°C (81°F), continuing the tropical nights, while daytime temperatures will reach 34°C (93°F) in Ulsan, remaining as hot as today.
