Satellite images have revealed signs that Iran has been conducting restoration work at nuclear facilities following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the United States, CNN reported on July 10 (local time).
According to satellite photos taken by the satellite imagery company Venter on June 22 and July 7, reconstruction work to repair damage from airstrikes was detected at the Taleghan 2 facility within the Parchin military complex, which is suspected to be a storage site for high-performance explosives used in nuclear weapons.
Additionally, photos from June 21 showed vehicles entering and exiting tunnels in an area suspected to be an underground nuclear facility.
CNN analyzed that these circumstances suggest a possibility that Iran has violated the MOU signed with the United States on June 17.
The report noted that if the activities detected around the nuclear facilities are intended to restart nuclear programs or restore nuclear weapons development capabilities, it could contradict the purpose of the MOU, which was to proceed with nuclear negotiations.
The U.S. Department of Defense stated, "We will not comment on operational security regarding battlefield or intelligence matters."
Meanwhile, there are assessments that the existing MOU framework has already been neutralized due to recent tensions between the U.S. and Iran over the resumption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. has recently resumed military action, claiming that Iran has violated the MOU.
U.S. President Donald Trump also declared an end to the truce with Iran via his social media platform, Truth Social.
