A fire broke out at a subway construction site in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, and was extinguished after about an hour and a half.
A report of the fire was received at approximately 7:10 a.m. today (July 11) from a subway construction site in Dongan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.
The fire department briefly issued a Level 1 emergency response, deploying about 30 pieces of equipment and approximately 100 personnel to extinguish the blaze by around 8:50 a.m.
About 20 workers evacuated immediately after the fire started, and it has been confirmed that there were no injuries.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the cause of the fire based on witness statements suggesting that the blaze began in the non-woven fabric on the ceiling of the construction site.
