Representative Im Oh-kyung of the Democratic Party of Korea has withdrawn her request to summon national football players Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan as witnesses for a National Assembly hearing regarding the Korea Football Association (KFA).

Through social media, Representative Im stated, "I have withdrawn the request for witnesses after comprehensively considering the party's opinion, as well as the players' match schedules and positions."

Previously, Representative Im had requested the presence of Son and Hwang, arguing that "innovation that does not reflect the opinions of the players is meaningless."

With the hearing scheduled for July 22, the summons was effectively impossible to fulfill. Son Heung-min departed the country today, July 10, as he is set to play for his club, LA FC, on July 18 and 23. Hwang Hee-chan's club, Wolverhampton, is also scheduled to begin its preseason on July 23.
