President Lee Jae-myung, currently on a state visit to Mongolia, is set to attend a state dinner hosted by President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and present him with gifts, including a traditional Korean bow set.

Kang Yu-jeong, Chief Spokesperson for the Presidential Office, held a briefing at the Korea Press Center in Ulaanbaatar on the evening of July 10 (local time). She stated, "Considering the personal preferences of President Khurelsukh and First Lady Bolortsetseg, we have prepared a traditional bow set, a smartwatch, and a mother-of-pearl jewelry box featuring butterfly and vine patterns."

The bow set is a traditional Korean weapon crafted using traditional techniques by bonding materials such as water buffalo horn and bamboo. The Presidential Office explained that it was chosen in recognition of archery as a shared cultural tradition between the two nations.

Notably, archery is one of the three main events of the Naadam Festival, Mongolia's largest festival, which President Lee is scheduled to attend as a guest of honor tomorrow, July 11.

A smartwatch equipped with the latest features was also prepared as a gift for President Khurelsukh, who is known to enjoy exercise.

For First Lady Luvsandorj Bolortsetseg, the Presidential Office prepared a mother-of-pearl jewelry box decorated with butterfly and vine patterns.

The office explained that butterflies symbolize happiness and prosperity, while vines represent longevity due to their characteristic of extending endlessly.

The color of the box was chosen to be jade, reminiscent of Mongolia's vast grasslands and abundant nature.

Approximately 40 South Korean business leaders are also attending today's state dinner, including Koo Ja-eun, Chairman of LS Group; Jang In-hwa, Chairman of POSCO Holdings; Heon Shin-kyun, President of LG CNS; Huh Seo-hong, CEO of GS Retail; and Han Chae-yang, CEO of E-mart.
