The Cheongju Cheongwon Police Station announced today (July 10) that it has arrested and is currently investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, for threatening his family members with a weapon because they allegedly spent his traffic accident insurance money without permission.

The suspect is accused of threatening his mother and younger sister with a weapon at an apartment in Cheongwon-gu at approximately 8:00 p.m. yesterday (July 9).

It is reported that he committed the act in a fit of rage after discovering that his family had used his traffic accident insurance settlement without his consent.
