A concrete retaining wall and steel structures have collapsed, and police tape has been set up around the area.

Yesterday (July 9), a villa retaining wall in Paengseong-eup, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, collapsed due to torrential rain. Seven residents from five households were evacuated to a nearby senior citizens' center.

In Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, the Anhyeon Intersection was flooded, leaving four vehicles submerged and four people stranded before they were rescued.

[Official from Siheung Fire Station, Gyeonggi Province: The initial report stated that there were two people inside a vehicle and that water was rising. When we arrived, we found that other vehicles were also stranded in the vicinity, so it appears we rescued more people as well.]

In Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, a factory ceiling collapsed. In southern Gyeonggi Province alone, more than 220 reports of rain-related damage were filed yesterday.

During the day, a flood advisory was issued for Dorimcheon Stream in Seoul for the first time this year.

At the time, heavy rain warnings were in effect for the southwestern and northwestern parts of Seoul, including Gwanak-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Mapo-gu, and Jongno-gu.

As the rain stopped and the heavy rain alerts were lifted, the flood advisory was also lifted after about two and a half hours.

Due to this rain, one person remains missing nationwide, and the number of people evacuated to temporary housing facilities has exceeded 600.

There have been 256 reports of facility damage, including 48 roads and underpasses being flooded and 21 homes being submerged.
